The EMERCOM of Russia has developed a national standard defining the actions of the authorities for the rapid organization of mass burial of people and animals who died in the as a result of military conflicts or emergencies in peacetime. The corresponding document will enter into force on February 1, 2022.

The document is posted on the website of the Russian Emergencies Ministry. The standard was developed by a departmental research institute for civil defense and emergency situations. As noted, the document was adopted back in September 2021.
The standard is advisory in nature and is posted on the official website of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia.
The document says that when choosing places of burial of human corpses, take into account the rules for building the city, the distance to residential buildings, features of the terrain and the location of the source of water supply.
It is ordered to bury the dead with a high radioactive background in specially designated places. Burial of the dead from especially dangerous infections should be carried out in sealed galvanized coffins.
The standard requires regional authorities to pre-stock coffins, pathological bags and disinfectants. It also provides for the formation of special units for the urgent burial of corpses.
In addition, the standard contains instructions for organizing mass graves. As an example, a situation is given when a thousand people need to be buried within three days. The document describes, in particular, how long it takes to create a mass grave, which size should be and which bulldozer is better to use to fill it.
