In St. Petersburg, the statistics of mortality from covid has increased. This is taking place against the backdrop of a new anti-record nationwide.
Over the past day, 48 deaths were registered in the northern capital – 6 more than the day before. In Russia, 819 people with covid were added to the deadly statistics. This is an absolute record in the country since the beginning of the pandemic.
In the Leningrad Region, 15 patients with coronavirus infection die for the second day in a row. Over the entire period of the epidemic, the region lost more than 2.3 thousand people.
Since March, almost 20 thousand people have died in St. Petersburg due to the coronavirus. In Russia, 169,683 deaths from COVID-19 were recorded.
A day earlier, St. Petersburg doctors spoke about the depletion of the city's health care system. According to them, it was this that caused the high mortality rate from other diseases.
Over the past 2 years, the situation with diseases of the cardiovascular system has significantly worsened in the city. Until 2019, the number of deaths of St. Petersburg residents from heart attacks and strokes was decreasing, and in 2020 it rose sharply.
