In Romania, Ukrainians are offered work without knowing the language: vacancies and salaries

The advantage is that Romanian employers organize childcare for their employees.

Ukrainian refugees who left for Romania can find work without knowing the language. Bucharest competes with other Eastern European countries for Ukrainian workers.

Margarita Nesterenko, head of international recruitment at the EWL Migration Platform, spoke about this in a commentary to RBC-Ukraine.

Vacancies

Ukrainians without knowledge of the Romanian language or experience are offered work at enterprises in the automotive industry, food and processing industries, bakeries and meat production plants (at some enterprises, workers are provided with two free meals a day).

“In Romania, like in Poland or the Czech Republic, there is also a lot of work in the automotive industry, where they produce components for cars. Such vacancies prevail as more and more automakers move their production lines to Romania,” Nesterenko explained.

Salary

The basic minimum salary is 600-640 euros in hand . On average you can earn 1200–1500 euros per month.

“You can earn 1,200-1,500 euros per month by working extra hours, night shifts and bonuses. At Christmas and Easter, employers also pay an additional 50% of the salary as a bonus,” she said.

Most employers provide free housing and free transportation to work. To facilitate communication at enterprises, Ukrainian employees are engaged by coordinators who speak Ukrainian or Russian and know Romanian.

The advantage is that Romanian employers organize childcare for their employees. As Nesterenko explained, Romania’s similar liberal approach to legalization and employment attracts Ukrainians.

“Currently, residents of the Odessa and Kherson regions choose Romania as a country for migration (both for work and as a refuge) due to the geographical proximity and dangerous situation in these regions. Among them are also women with children, since large Romanian employers provide child care while women are working,” Nesterenko said.

According to her, employers in Romania are interested in the work of Ukrainians. Romania competes with Poland and other Eastern European countries for Ukrainian workers.

Let us remind you that it was previously reported that salaries would be transferred to Ukrainians next year.
