Two priests from Sosnowiec died in Poland diocese. According to investigators, in March 2023, one of the priests killed a deacon and then committed suicide by throwing himself under a train. Almost a year later, the causes of this tragedy became known.

In March 2023, the body of a young man was discovered near the Catholic House opposite the Sosnowiec Cathedral. The victim of the crime was a 26-year-old deacon. Wounds found on the man's body indicate murder.
Soon the local priest also died under a train.
It turns out that the priest was planning a crime, as evidenced by the contents of his will. The prerequisite for the crime should be the mental illness of the elderly clergyman. Bishop Sosnowiecki knew about this, but could not do anything, since Fr. Robert S. had a valid health certificate.
Tragic events occurred one after another with an interval of about 1.5 hours. A deacon originally from Wolbrom and a priest from Jaworzno have served in the Cathedral Basilica of Sosnowiec since September 2022. The senior clergyman lived in the parish house next to the cathedral, the deacon lived in the Catholic house across the road. These two men could have been in conflict with each other; the dispute probably concerned their personal lives. There could also be rivalry and jealousy between the clergy because of the positions they held.
