The construction of a new fence on the border of Poland with Belarus may temporarily weaken the protection and provoke attacks by illegal immigrants sent by the Belarusian security forces. This was stated by the head of the National Security Bureau of the Republic, Pavel Solokh, on the air of Polish Radio.
According to him, Minsk is ready to go for new provocations, so official Warsaw must do everything possible to protect its citizens.
The Polish authorities spoke about plans to build a fence on the border with Belarus in the fall of 2021, they want to complete the construction in the first half of 2022. This project appeared after the aggravation of the migration crisis at the border. After it began, Warsaw erected a barbed wire fence, which proved to be a weak barrier to migrants. Frightened by a new aggravation, the Polish authorities decided to allocate about 1.615 billion zlotys (414 million dollars) for a new facility. The money will come entirely from the country's budget.
