Russia, if it decides to attack any NATO country, will inevitably suffer defeat.
In the obvious interests of Poland there is keeping the aggressor as far as possible from the Polish border. Therefore, a sovereign Ukraine must win this war, and a peaceful order in this part of Europe must be restored. At the same time, for Russia, an attack on a NATO country will end in inevitable defeat.
This was stated by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, presenting foreign policy priorities for 2024 in the Sejm, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Sikorski assured that the Polish government is working for the security of the country, therefore, together with its allies, it must strengthen defense capabilities and provide maximum military and political support to Ukraine.
He emphasized that the real reason for Russian aggression is not the threat to it from NATO, but the values and standards that the West defends, in particular democracy, the government’s responsibility to its citizens, and the fight against corruption.< /p>
Sikorsky also added that Russian President Vladimir Putin repeats “certain myths from ancient times to justify aggression against neighbors.”
“If everyone applied the same logic, not a single European country would remain within its current borders. But after World War II, everyone agreed to ban such pseudo-historical claims,” Sikorsky said.
Sikorsky noted the difference in the military and economic potentials of the West and Russia
The head of the Prl Foreign Ministry emphasized that the population of the EU and NATO countries is six times larger than in Russia and Belarus, and the combined GDP of the Russian Federation and Belarus is 20 times less than that of Western countries. The armies of NATO countries, even without mobilization, have three times more troops, aircraft or submarines and four times more warships than Russia.
“Therefore, it is not we, the West, who should fear a clash with Putin, but vice versa. And this needs to be reminded, not in order to increase the Russians’ sense of threat, since NATO is a defense pact, but to show that a Russian attack on any member of the Alliance would result in its undoubted defeat. Russia's military and economic potential pales in comparison to that of the West. If we don’t have enough freedom, then Russia will lose,” Sikorsky emphasized.
According to him, Putin’s only hope may be the indecisiveness of Western countries in countering the aggressive actions of the Russian Federation.
“Finally start investing in your lands and your citizens”: Sikorsky called on the Russians to eliminate their killers
He also drew attention to the fact that even now Russia is the largest country in the world by area.
“You don’t need the lands of other countries – finally start investing in your lands and your citizens. First, we can end the expensive war, remove murderers and thieves from power, as was once the case in Poland,” Sikorsky said, addressing the Russians, to the applause of deputies.
Recall that the Polish Ministry of Defense announced its readiness to send Ukrainians of military age home, but there will be no mass exile, according to the protocol of the European Convention on Human Rights.
