At the same time, the number of housing offers decreased by a quarter .
Due to the large flow of refugees from Ukraine in Poland, there was a shortage of rental housing. The number of inquiries on various portals has increased by more than 110%.
This is reported by the analytical center of the Gremi Personal employment agency.
In early March, the number of inquiries for housing on popular ad sites is significantly increased by 166% on Otodom and 114% on OLX compared to the last week of February 2022. At the same time, the number of ads decreased by a quarter.
Apartments for rent are quickly disappearing in Warsaw, Wroclaw, Krakow, Gdansk, as Ukrainians, first of all, go to the big cities of Poland. Some of the refugees are placed in special centers, and the Poles accept Ukrainians into their families or give houses or apartments for free.
Employers also help. Thus, the Gremi Personal agency has already provided temporary shelter for more than 150 people, mostly the families of its own employees.
But some Ukrainians are looking for housing with their own hands. Due to increased demand, the market has already reacted by increasing rental prices by 20-25%. Renting a two-room apartment in Warsaw with an area of 45 square meters will cost PLN 3,000 (UAH 21,000) and more. In February, such an apartment could be rented for PLN 2,500.
“Ukrainian citizens who come to Poland should also settle in lesser-known and smaller cities. Thus, their employment opportunities increase. Large Polish manufacturing enterprises located just within the boundaries of small towns, and it is they who now have more vacancies for Ukrainian women who can start working without experience and knowledge of the Polish language and are ready to adjust production processes, taking into account the fact that women came to Poland with children, “says general director of the Gremi Personal employment agency Tomasz Bogdevich.
It should be noted that as of March 16, 1.5 million Ukrainians arrived in Poland. As a result, the Polish Seimas adopted a special law regulating the process of stay, employment and access to social programs for refugees from Ukraine.
