Specialists recorded elevated concentrations of PM10 at air quality monitoring stations in eastern Poland. The reason for this is the influx of air masses from all over Eastern Europe, from areas affected by Russian aggression in Ukraine and fires.

The average daily concentration of suspended dust PM10 above 100 µg/m3 was exceeded in the Lublin Voivodeship at the stations in Chełm (121.2 µg/m3) and Zamosc (115.7 µg/m3).

< p>In the Podlaskie Voivodeship, the average daily concentration is above 150 µg/m3. The predicted excess covers the city of Białystok.

“Particulate matter is a mixture of solid particles and liquid droplets that remain in the air. These particles may contain, for example: sulfur and nitrogen compounds, heavy metals and allergens. PM10 dust contains particles with a diameter of no more than 10 micrometers,” the message says.
