В Польше антикоррупционерам из госбюжета оплачивали развлечения в борделе: что известно о скандальном заявлении

A new scandal erupted in Poland.

In Poland, a former agent of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau (CBA) accused his superiors of misuse budget money. As an example, he reported an alleged holiday in a brothel in Vienna for bureau employees, which was paid for at public expense.

The Polish publication wprost.pl writes about this

A former agent said that investigators went to a brothel in Vienna at the expense of the state budget

Tomasz Kaczmarek (agent Tomek) released information about the probable misappropriation of public money by the CBA leadership to pay for the services of prostitutes for officers. This became known after the detention of former heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Mariusz Kaminski and Maciej Wosik.

In an interview with TVN24, Kaczmarek said that he, along with Grzegorz P. and Krzysztof B., were sent to Vienna under a false pretext.

“The purpose of the visit was made up so that we could find a slot machine factory,” Agent Tomek said.

According to him, this was just an excuse to “reward these gentlemen for their conscientious work by spending two days in a Viennese brothel.”

“The stay in Vienna was paid for with Polish taxpayers’ money, the trip was not for the purpose of fighting crime,” he added.

Agent Tomek or Tomasz Kaczmarek worked at the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau in 2006-2010, and in 2011-2015 he was a deputy from Law and Justice. In 2021, the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Białystok filed an indictment with the court in Olsztyn for violations at the Helper Foundation (Kaczmarek and his wife are the main defendants). Kaczmarek himself believes that the foundation’s case is being used for political purposes.

Reaction of the Polish authorities

The new Prime Minister Donald Tusk has already responded to the scandal: “In Vienna, CBA agents certainly had the opportunity to visit the Kunsthistorisches Museum, listen to Mozart at the Konzerthaus and enjoy a cake at the Sacher Café.” These are all public places “.

The Civic Coalition, which is in opposition to the PIS party, has already created a settlement group that will carefully study the decisions made by the Law and Justice government. It was headed by deputy Roman Gertich. Also because of this, the deputies contacted the prosecutor's office.

Recall that earlier in Poland, former heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Mariusz Kaminski and Maciej Wosik were detained. They are accused of the so-called “land case”.
