Quarrels in the family began when the man began to drink, lost his job and accumulated debts.
In the small Polish town of Puszczykowo near Poznan, 42-year-old Ukrainian Sergei T. killed his 29-year-old wife Yulia and two young daughters, aged 4 and 1.5 years, and then lived in the same house with the bodies for five days until he surrendered to the police.
This was reported by the Polish publication Fakt.
Sergei T. from Pushchikov was a famous chef before he killed his loved ones. He came from Ukraine to work in the best restaurants. His career fell apart when he started drinking.
At one time, he said that he dreamed of working as a cook since childhood, when he constantly helped his grandmother in the kitchen.
The killer was a good cook
After school, he went to Moscow to learn the craft of cooking from masters. At the age of 22, Sergei T. became a chef and worked in elite restaurants in Moscow. His career progressed.
Before leaving for Poland, he worked in a restaurant in the Ukrainian town of Kozatin. There he met Yulia and fell in love.
In 2018, Sergei came to Poland and got a job in an exclusive restaurant. A year after his arrival, his wife Yulia joined Sergei. Their daughters Daria and Maria were born in Poland, whom the family called Dasha and Masha. Julia’s son from a previous relationship also lived with the couple.
They rented a small house near Poznan. It seemed that they would live a happy life in the small town of Pushchikovo.
Sergei worked, Yulia took care of the house and children. The girls went to kindergarten, Yulia’s 11-year-old son went to a nearby school. The idyll would probably have continued if not for the alcohol. The 42-year-old man looked into the glass more and more often. Subsequently, he lost his job, accumulated debts, and quarrels broke out at home.
“He quarreled with his wife, who reproached him for abusing alcohol, having debts and not working. After one of these quarrels, he decided to kill his wife,” said the speaker of the Poznań prosecutor’s office, Łukasz Wawrzyniak, after interrogating the detainee.
Didn't want to kill children
On November 13, when his wife and children were already asleep, he climbed up, wrapped his arms around 29-year-old Yulia's neck and held her until she stopped breathing. He did not want to kill the children, but when his daughters woke up, he strangled first one and then the other girl.
Only Julia's 11-year-old son survived. The boy was sleeping in another room. The next day, my stepfather said that his sisters and mother were ill and were in the hospital, and the rooms on the first floor were being sterilized and he was not allowed there. In fact, behind the door were the bodies of a woman and her daughters. This went on for five days.
Only Yulia’s mother, who asked about her daughter and grandchildren, forced the killer to confess to his crime. He went to a shopping center in Poznan. I took Yulia’s son with me. On the way, he told him that his mother and sisters were dead. And then he turned to the guard and confessed to the triple murder. “The man was immediately detained, the police went to the specified address,” says prosecutor Wawrzyniak.
At the prosecutor's office, Sergei T. admitted his guilt. He was charged with three murders with direct intent. “During the interrogation he was calm, but only at the end, when the prosecutor asked if he regretted what he had done, did he burst into tears,” says Wawrzyniak.
The 42-year-old faces life imprisonment for the triple murder. 11-year-old stepson Sergei was taken into the care of his grandmother, the mother of murdered Yulia, who had already arrived in Poland from Ukraine.
Let us remind you that earlier the Kiev police established that a 43-year-old resident of the capital, wanted as a missing person, was killed. The murder was committed out of jealousy.
