In Poland, the story of a street survey turned into an unexpected story of help for an elderly lady.

An incredible and kind story happened in Poland – 83-year-old Warsaw resident Mrs. Henya accidentally took part in a street survey about a burger, and received great support from people and financial assistance for the treatment of her sick son.

Ukrayina.pl writes about this.

How the story began

In Poland, a new “Drwala” burger has appeared on the menu of McDonald's fast food establishment, which can be purchased in winter.

The Goniec.pl portal decided to conduct a survey among Warsaw residents. Thus, the journalist invited passers-by to try the burger, evaluate its taste and say whether they were willing to pay about 25 zlotys (223 UAH) for it. One of the respondents was 83-year-old Ms. Khenya.

The woman, having tasted the burger, replied that it was very tasty. However, she cannot afford to buy such “ditches”.

“I can’t afford such goodies. I have a teacher’s pension. It’s 2,200 zlotys (19,703 UAH) and I have a seriously ill son with incurable Lyme disease. After the death of my husband, I clean people’s houses,” Henya told the journalist.

The woman worked as a primary school teacher, and now lives on her pension, cleaning houses and caring for her seriously ill son, who cannot live independently due to neurological complications of Lyme disease.

Her son suffers from muscle atrophy and needs specialist help.

“My son can’t work. He spent his savings on doctors and receives 500 zlotys (4,478 UAH) of help. My daughter comes to wash her son once every two weeks, more often she can’t. We are doing everything possible,” Henya said in a conversation with Goniec .

The story of a pensioner touched users on the Internet

The life of 83-year-old Mrs. Hani changed dramatically after the journalists' story. Despite all the problems, the pensioner did not complain or blame anyone. She spoke sincerely about her life, which touched people.

Thus, the popular Polish singer Doda responded to the story about the pensioner. The singer appealed to fast food and catering chains with a request to help an elderly woman and her sick son.

In addition, Doda decided to organize a collection of money that Henya could spend on necessary things and current expenses.

As of now, the collection account has collected more than 525 thousand zlotys (more than 4.7 million UAH).

The pensioner was also supported by other Polish stars and politicians.

The journalist who conducted the survey subsequently visited Ms. Hene.

“How can I thank all these people? After all, these are people who give something from the heart, and how can I thank them?” – asked Mrs. Henya, barely holding back tears.
