In Poland, a gynecologist who raped his 19-year-old patient during an appointment was sentenced to 2 years with probation. It turned out that there were more victims of the man.

The girl said that several years ago she came to the procedure of cutting the hymen, proposed by gynecologist Ian K.. At a private reception, the doctor initially treated her to whiskey “for relaxation.” Then he gave an injection with an anesthetic.
The 19-year-old closed her eyes, not wanting to see the procedure. When she opened them for a moment, the doctor was standing over her, unzipping her pants. Later, in an interview with reporters, the girl explained that she could not move, it was as if she was paralyzed. She only managed to say: “I don’t want it that way,” but he didn’t stop. She subsequently heard from the doctor that she could see him for free for the rest of her life.
The prosecutor's office of the Old Town in Wroclaw took over the case. Investigators contacted another patient who spoke about the doctor’s claims. The doctor also convinced her to cut her hymen, treated her with alcohol and joked. He also persuaded her to have sex several times.
In 2019, the doctor was arrested and pleaded not guilty. He claimed that he did not remember the rape, and the examination of the other woman was completely different. However, patients' accounts on discussion forums also indicated inappropriate physician behavior. “He’s a bastard, he likes tanned girls, he also groped me and my friend and offered sex… He won’t let a single pretty girl pass by…” the patients wrote, warning other women.
On October 25, 2023, the doctor was found guilty and sentenced to two years of suspended imprisonment. In addition, he must pay compensation to two patients who were harmed. The rape victim will receive 35,000 zlotys, and the remaining 10,000 zlotys. The verdict is not final. An appeal is expected.
