The driver and coach died.
In the village of Lechow in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship of Poland, on national road 74, there was an accident with a bus in which there were young football players from Ozarow aged 16 to 18 and their coach.
RMF FM reports this.
The 65-year-old driver of the minibus, for unknown reasons, left his lane, crashed into a tree, and then the bus overturned. He died on the spot. 18 people were injured. 14 of them were taken to hospitals in Kielce, Opatów and Staszew. Four people did not require hospitalization.
Three helicopters of the Air Rescue Service arrived at the scene. Witnesses of the accident, three guys aged 17-18, noted that the driver probably lost consciousness. They believe that if the coach had not managed to turn the steering wheel, the consequences could have been even worse.
Recall that on September 22, the Ustilug-Zosin checkpoint on the border with Poland is temporarily closed.
