After the closure of the Russian consulate in Krakow, volunteers carried out a disinfection campaign.

In Poland, in the city of Krakow, a symbolic “disinfection” was carried out near the building where the Russian consulate previously operated. Activists and volunteers washed off Russian symbols, in particular the letter “Z”, and “cleaned” the space of traces of propaganda.

This was reported by the organization sestry.eu

Flags of Ukraine, Poland and the European Union appeared on the site of the former consulate.

“This event is a peaceful, creative form of resistance and an expression of gratitude to Poland for its support of Ukraine,” the statement said.

The consulate was closed after the Polish Foreign Ministry revoked its permit over suspicions of Russian intelligence involvement in the arson of a shopping mall in Warsaw. The mayor of Krakow supported the decision, saying that citizens had been asking for it since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

As Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski stated, Russia is not only waging an open war against Ukraine, but has also launched a hybrid war against the West, including through acts of sabotage on the territory of Poland and its allied countries.

Earlier, Sikorski also revoked the permission for the Russian consulate general in Poznan to operate. In his opinion, Russia's diplomatic institutions may in fact be a cover for hostile activity.

In addition to Warsaw, similar attacks were recorded in Vilnius. According to intelligence agencies, Moscow is also behind the arson.
