Lithuania may conclude an agreement with Ukraine on the study of the Ukrainian language in schools.
In Lithuania they propose to transfer Russian-language schools to Lithuanian as the language of instruction, and to teach Ukrainian rather than Russian as a foreign language.
This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Education countries Gintautas Jakštas, informs Ziniu Radijas.
He said that Lithuania should do the same as neighboring Estonia and Latvia.
The Minister noted that Lithuania should focus its education only on the official languages of the European Union, and also enter into bilateral agreements with friendly countries.
“For example, with Ukraine, so that education takes place in the language of this national minority,” said Yakshtas.
He noted that the Ministry of Education will soon prepare government proposals for the transition of Russian schools to teaching in Lithuanian.
Recall that it was previously reported that Ukraine received another package of military aid from Lithuania.
In addition, we previously informed that in Lithuania it is proposed to introduce the same sanctions against Russians and Belarusians.
