The Kiev authorities are preparing to work in a possible emergency situation and have approved a plan for the evacuation of the population in such a case. This was announced by the mayor of the Ukrainian capital Vitaliy Klitschko, reports TASS.
According to Klitschko, the plan specifies the location of prefabricated evacuation points, the amount of transport needed and safe areas to accommodate the population. He said that in total, the fund of protective structures of the city's civil protection includes more than 500 storage facilities and about 4.5 thousand dual-use structures.
“Our efforts are aimed both at preventing or overcoming possible provocations and at resisting a military attack. We are acting according to a clear plan,” said the Kiev mayor. He also recalled that at the moment the forces of the territorial brigade are being deployed to defend Kiev.
Earlier, US national security adviser Joe Biden, Jake Sullivan, said that Russia, in the event of an invasion of Ukraine, could capture large cities of this country, including Kiev.
