In Kharkiv, Russian troops attacked the building of the regional department of the National Police. The building is practically destroyed.
This was announced by Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko.
He also said that after the impact, the building of the sociological faculty of the Karazin National University, located across the street from the building of the Department of Internal Affairs, caught fire.
The State Emergency Service also confirmed that as a result of enemy shelling, the roof of the building of the regional department of internal affairs, residential buildings are on fire, and there is a threat of fire spreading.
The State Emergency Service reported that on March 2, around 08.10 am in Kharkiv, three people were previously injured as a result of a missile attack on the SBU building in the Kharkiv region, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Kharkiv region and the building of the Karazin Kharkiv National University.
Now 90 rescuers are working on the spot and 21 pieces of equipment are involved. The number of victims is being specified.
On March 1, there was a large-scale attack on Kharkov. From early morning the city was under airstrikes and artillery fire. Russian troops shelled residential areas in different districts of Kharkov, resulting in the death of dozens of civilians.
In addition, the Russian military launched an airstrike on the central square of Kharkov. The missile strike fell on Svobody Square, where the building of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration is located.
