The plane crash occurred after a group of planes took off from Turin Caselle Airport, its cause is unknown.
On Saturday, September 16, the plane of the Italian acrobatic aviation team Frecce Tricolori crashed during training near the city of Turin. As a result of the plane crash, a 5-year-old girl, who was in a car passing near the crash site, died.
This is reported by the Associated Press with reference to Italian media.
The plane or parts of the plane crashed into a car in which there was a family – a couple and two children. A 5-year-old girl was fatally injured, and a 9-year-old boy and his parents suffered burns. The pilot ejected and also suffered burns.
The video of the accident shows nine planes moving in two V-shaped formations. Suddenly, one of the planes descends lower than the others and crashes, causing a fireball due to an explosion of apparently fuel.
The video also shows the pilot ejecting with a parachute shortly before the collision inside the airfield fence.
The crash reportedly occurred after takeoff from Turin's Caselle airport. The cause of the crash has not yet been reported.
Photos of the aftermath show the wreckage of the plane in a corn field and a burned out and wrecked car overturned on the side of the road.
Frecce Tricolori is Italy's leading team of acrobat pilots, part of the Italian Air Force. They usually perform demonstration flights at events of national importance, leaving trails of red, green and white smoke – in the colors of the Italian flag. More complex acrobatics are performed during an air show.
The squad was preparing to perform on Sunday, September 17, as part of events to mark the 100th anniversary of the Italian Air Force.
Recall that on August 12, when in Russia celebrated Air Force Day; in the Kaliningrad region, a Su-30 fighter crashed while trying to perform an aerobatics maneuver. The plane crash was caught on video.
