The publication, referring to updated data from the Israeli Ministry of Health, writes that 468,232 people are currently sick with coronavirus in the country. In total, 2,623,896 infected people have been detected in the country since the beginning of the pandemic.
In addition, 8529 COVID-19 patients died, in particular, 27 people per day, 2,146,791 recovered after infection with coronavirus.
“The number of infected is taken into account by PCR tests and tests at the inspection points (a positive result of a home test is not taken into account in statistics if it is not confirmed at the inspection point),” the message says.
The condition of 923 patients (+35 per day; 0.17% of the current number of infected) is assessed by doctors as severe, 200 (+13) are connected to ventilators or ECMO.
According to a report by the Israeli Ministry of Health, 38% of those infected with coronavirus in the country are in the age category of 0-19 years. And only 10% are over 60 years old. At the same time, 84% of seriously ill patients are over 60 years old.
Most people over the age of 60 are fully vaccinated, and the percentage of seriously ill among them is much lower than among the unvaccinated. At the same time, against the background of a sharp increase in infection in absolute numbers, the number of seriously ill among fully vaccinated elderly people is growing.
