Iran-backed militants attacked Al-Assad Air Base in Iraq at approximately 6:00 pm: 30 (Baghdad time) January 20.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported this on the X social network.
“Iran-backed militants launched numerous ballistic missiles and missiles targeting Al-Assad Air Base. Most of the missiles were intercepted by the base's air defense systems, while others hit the base. Damage assessments are ongoing. An Iraqi soldier was injured,” the report states.
As reported, The Houthis launched a missile attack on the Gibraltar Eagle on January 15, which US owned and operated. There were no casualties or significant damage. The ship continued on its way.
