In Jakarta, Indonesia, a massive fire broke out at the Pertamina oil depot on March 3, killing at least 17 people.

First, Army Chief of Staff General Dudung Abdurahman reported 14 dead and 42 hospitalized at the scene. Some of the victims received serious burns. Later it became known about the death of 17 people.
After the flames spread near the oil depot, several thousand people were evacuated from nearby areas.
” The fire set off several explosions and quickly spilled over into residential buildings,” said Jakarta's chief firefighter, Satriadi Gunawan.
The oil depot, operated by state-owned Pertamina, is located near a densely populated area in the Tanah Mera district of North Jakarta. The fuel storage station provides 25% of Indonesia's needs.
Currently, at least 180 firefighters and 37 fire trucks are trying to curb the fire.
