A resident of the Indian state of Gujarat became a mother for the first time at the age of 65-70 years – doctors do not have more accurate data on the woman's age, since the woman in childbirth did not have documents, and she could only name her age approximately.
However, earlier this year, Jivuben Walabhai Rabari volunteered to participate in an in vitro fertilization (IVF) experiment. Doctors warned that pregnancy, especially at such an advanced age, can be dangerous, but the woman was not embarrassed by the risk.
She explained her step by the fact that she had been married for over 45 years, but she and her husband never had children.
The doctors were extremely skeptical, but the result surprised everyone – the woman became pregnant, and eight months later, as a result of a cesarean section, a healthy boy was born. The happy father of the child recently turned 75 years old.
“When they first came to us, we told them that they could not have a child at such an old age, but they insisted on their own,” the Daily Mail quoted doctor Naresh Bhanushali as saying .
The doctor noted that this is an amazing experience, since the chances for a woman to become pregnant naturally at this age are practically zero.
