The man detained for breaking into Windsor Castle previously stated that his goal was the assassination of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain. This is reported by the newspaper The Sun.
Darth Jones, a 19-year-old Indian Sikh, sent a Snapchat video to his friends before committing to the crime. In it, the man said that he wanted to kill Elizabeth II as revenge for the Amritsar massacre, which took place on April 13, 1919. On that day, British colonial forces shot at a peaceful Indian demonstration against the rule of the crown in the city of Amritsar, Punjab.
“I'm sorry. I am sorry for what I did and what I am about to do. I will try to kill Queen Elizabeth. It is also revenge for those who have been killed, humiliated, and racially oppressed. I am an Indian Sikh. My name was Jaswant Sing Chali, my name is Darth Jones, ”said the young avenger.
Earlier, the police detained a man armed with a crossbow who was able to enter the grounds of Windsor Castle, where the queen and her family were celebrating Christmas. First, 19-year-old Darth Jones was taken into custody, and then transferred to a psychiatric clinic.
