В Германии климатические активисты парализовали работу аэропорта: что известно

Movement "Last Generation" said the action was part of an international protest campaign calling for a phase-out of fossil fuels by 2030.

German Cologne/Bonn Airport was forced to stop work for five hours due to a dangerous action by climate activists from the Last Generation movement, who glued themselves to the runways.

BILD writes about this.

“Cologne/Bonn Airport has been paralyzed since five in the morning today. Climate activists entered the airport and interrupted air traffic. All flights were canceled until ten o'clock in the morning, the airport has now announced the resumption of operations,” the message says .

It is known that five activists, through a still unknown method, entered the airport and glued themselves to the runways, making it impossible for planes to take off and land. It is being determined how exactly they were able to enter the airport.

“They were criminally charged with violating the law on fees, dangerous interference with air traffic and illegal entry into the territory,” — the police reported.

On social media, the Last Generation movement said the action was part of an international protest campaign calling for a phase-out of fossil fuels by 2030. Activists promised to organize similar protests at airports in more than ten other countries in the near future.

Recall that in the UK, two environmental activists mocked Stonegenge by spraying orange powder there. Wiltshire Police have confirmed that two Just Stop Oil climate campaigners have been detained on suspicion of damaging an ancient monument.
