French President Emmanuel Macron stated that the opening of the Cathedral of Notre Dame is planned for the 2024 Summer Olympics, which will be held in Paris. Work on the restoration of the cathedral is being completed there.

The opening is scheduled for December 8, 2024. During the Olympic Games, the building will remain closed and partially covered with scaffolding.
However, visitors will be able to see a virtual reality exhibition as part of the project and a photo exhibition dedicated to the ongoing work of artisans.
Cost Protecting the cathedral from fires and repairing the damage will cost about 700 million euros, raising questions in the donor committee about whether contributions will be enough for the work, which is estimated at another 170 million euros and includes extensive renovation of the interior.
