Updating mobile networks is a tricky job that engineers usually do. But the operator Vodafone decided to introduce an innovation in England and, together with Ericsson, try to replace people in this business with drones.
The drones will conduct a survey, make all the necessary measurements of the technical parameters of the network and, based on all this data, create a “digital twin”. Content-Review.com writes that engineers will already be studying it, which will greatly speed up and, possibly, reduce the cost of updating mobile networks.
It is reported that Vodafone drones will be equipped with a high-quality camera and lidar. The latter, thanks to the use of lasers, will be able to more accurately measure the distance to objects.
As part of the pilot project, the drones will collect information from 70 objects. Perhaps in the future they will be “admitted” to even more of them.
