Four Cherkasy doctors have been suspected of improper performance of professional duties due to the death of City Council deputy Yelena Shevchenko.
They face up to two years in prison.
The investigation lasted from January 2021. According to law enforcement officials, the deputy died because doctors, due to a careless and unfair attitude to their professional duties, allowed complications during surgical treatment.
In the end, the woman died in the intensive care unit of the Cherkasy regional hospital.
The tragic incident occurred on January 18 in a private clinic that provided services on the territory of the First City Hospital.
After that, the lease with the clinic was terminated.

In March, the Kiev city prosecutor's office filed an indictment against the doctors of the National Cancer Institute on the fact of the death of the patient and forgery of medical documents about the cause of her death.
< p> According to the investigation, the anesthesiologist before the operation did not prepare the patient accordingly and injected her with drugs that were incompatible for simultaneous administration. For this reason, the woman died in the hospital.
To hide the negligence, the patient's doctor and a pathologist forged documents on the cause of the woman's death after the autopsy.
