The incident occurred in one of the shops of the city on March 18 at about 17:00.
The man was tied to a pole until the police arrived at the scene.
A 28-year-old attacker was reported to law enforcement officers confessed to the crime. The total amount of damage inflicted by him is about UAH 2 thousand.
Investigators of the Cherkasy district police department opened criminal proceedings on the fact of theft.
A resident of Cherkasy is threatened with up to eight years in prison.
