In the Chernivtsi region, a man will appear before the court for providing the police with false reports. He faces up to two years in prison.
The incident took place on December 20 in the village of Nedoboevtsy, Dniester region. A 46-year-old man called line 102 and said that five men had broken into his home.
The bandits allegedly demanded money and threatened him with reprisals. However, when the law enforcement officers came to the call, the 46-year-old man was drunk in bed, and no signs of robbery were found.
Moreover, the man had already been convicted in October for a similar crime. While drunk, he called the police and reported the & # 8220; murder & # 8221; person.
What the police say
Criminal proceedings were opened under Part 1 of Article 383 (Deliberately false reporting of a crime) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Investigators noted that when the 46-year-old man called 102 in December, he was on probation serving his sentence.
The pre-trial investigation in this case has already been completed, and in January the court will decide the fate of the suspect. The maximum sentence is up to two years behind bars.
