Christmas markets in Berlin will work for those who have been ill and vaccinated against the coronavirus.

В Berlin has decided to dance in nightclubs and other indoor areas due to a sharp increase in the number of coronavirus infections. Restrictions will apply, in particular, for the New Year and Christmas holidays.

The corresponding decision was published on December 3 on the website of the government of the capital of Germany.

The clubs will not be completely closed yet due to legal nuances. At the federal level, the authorities agreed to close clubs with an average incidence of coronavirus per week of more than 350 people. However, discussions on this amendment are ongoing.

Restaurants and pubs may also be open for now, but subject to the new placement rules. They also need to reduce the number of tables. Christmas markets will be open , but only vaccinated or sick people will be able to attend. The wearing of masks for visitors there will be mandatory.

Other restrictive measures are also being introduced: so to visit state institutions in Berlin can only be vaccinated, recovered or people with a fresh negative PCR test.

Mask mode for public transport now also applies to railway platforms and ferry piers. Maximum number of visitors for outdoor events – 1,000 people, indoor – 200 people.

New restrictions come into force on December 8 and will be valid until January 2 2022.
