Large-scale evacuation on the east coast of Australia. Due to severe flooding caused by torrential rains, 18 thousand people have already left their homes. More than 50 thousand more will leave the flooded areas in the near future, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, MIR 24 reports.
New South Wales is literally going under water. Villages, roads, and rural areas are flooded. Not only people suffer, but also pets. Some are missing, others are being rescued by local residents. And from now on, the rains will intensify. Precipitation will last until Thursday, forecasters warn.
