Moscow. September 1. INTERFAX.RU – Roskomnadzor called tens of thousands of illegal materials posted on the Internet, which carry serious risks for the child's psyche: child pornography, suicidal and pro-narcotic content, an absolute evil.
“Every year Roskomnadzor detects and blocks tens of thousands of illegal materials that are absolute evil and carry serious risks for the child's psyche: child pornography, suicidal and narcotic content,” the press service said.
According to Roskomnadzor, currently in the Russian Federation more than 17.5 million young people aged 12 to 24 are active Internet users.
“The task of the state is to protect citizens, especially children and adolescents, from illegal information, to protect them from attacks and harassment, to teach them to take care of their personal data. Russian legislation creates the legal basis for regulating the Internet space, making it safer for children and adolescents. “, – underlined in the message.
The press service also said that Roskomnadzor welcomes the creation of the Russian Alliance for the Protection of Children in the Digital Environment and is ready to support its participants.
“The amount of information posted on the Internet is growing exponentially, so the active participation of business is necessary in solving this issue. We welcome the inclusion of new participants in the work to protect children in the digital environment. Self-regulation of the industry will make it even more effective to counter threats aimed at the most vulnerable Internet users. “, – said the department.
Roskomnadzor recalled that this year a law on self-monitoring of social networks came into force in the Russian Federation, which imposes on them the obligation to independently identify and remove harmful content dangerous for children and adolescents.
On Wednesday, the largest Russian Internet companies, media holdings and telecom operators signed a charter on the safety of children on the Internet, which would limit their access to harmful and illegal content.
Within the framework of the charter, the Alliance for the Protection of Children in the Digital Environment was created, whose members made a number of voluntary commitments. The document was signed by Yandex, Mail.ru Group, Kaspersky Lab, National Media Group, Gazprom-Media Holding, Rostelecom, Megafon, MTS and Vimpelcom.
