The Bulls beat Jastrzebie 6-1.

Red Bull Salzburg once again reached the round of 16 in the Champions Hockey League (CHL) with their next win. A smooth 6: 1 (0: 0.1: 1.5: 0) against the Polish club Jastrzebie on Sunday brought the fourth success in the fourth game. The remaining two group matches against Bolzano, who lost 2-1 in the home game against Asker for the first time after a shootout, will take place in October.

Against Jastrzebie, Mario Huber put Salzburg in the lead after half an hour in front of 900 spectators. After the guests equalized (33rd), Salzburg shot out another victory in the final third against the increasingly tired Poles. First, Jakub Borzecki (47th) made it 2-1. The preliminary decision was then made with a double strike by goal scorer Ty Loney (48./PP, 51.). Benjamin Nissner (53rd) and Thomas Raffl (56th) followed suit in the final phase.

The team of head coach Matt McIlvane moved into the knockout phase, just like in his other five CL appearances to date. “It's great, that's what we set out to do. It was a strong game for our team,” said McIlvane. The KAC is also still unbeaten in Group G and is well on its way to promotion.
