IBM top managers in internal correspondence called employees over 40 dinosaurs who do not understand anything in interaction, and then fired them, writes Business Insider.
According to the publication, screenshots of correspondence are used as evidence of the company's accusations of ageism. Reports have been known to talk about laying off employees over 40 in 2018 to “make way for millennials and accelerate IBM.”
Company spokesman Chris Mumma said employees were fired not because of age, but because of changing business conditions. “Some of the wording in the reported emails between former IBM executives is inconsistent with the way the company treats employees with respect,” Mumma said.
Earlier it was reported that California authorities sued Tesla for racial discrimination. According to employee complaints, black employees of the company saw daily racist graffiti on the walls of toilets, lockers, benches, workplaces, dining tables and in the break room, and also listened to insults from management.
