The IAEA has denied rumors of a radiation leak in Iran.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said there was no increase in radiation levels outside the sites following recent attacks on three nuclear sites in Iran, including the underground complex at Fordow.
This is stated in a message on the social network X.
“The IAEA can confirm that there have been no reports of increased radiation levels outside the sites to date,” the agency said in a statement.
Experts are currently continuing to assess the situation and analyze the possible consequences of the incidents. The IAEA has promised to provide additional information as soon as it becomes available.
Recall that several nuclear facilities in Iran were attacked the day before. Who is behind the attacks has not yet been officially reported. The situation is causing concern among the international community regarding the security of nuclear infrastructure in the region.
US President Donald Trump, commenting on the strikes, said the aim of the strikes was to completely destroy Iran's uranium enrichment program and end the nuclear threat from what he called “the world's number one state sponsor of terrorism.”
