Rescuers were informed about the incident by one of the four likely gang members who managed to escape from the blocked tunnel. A voice was heard from under the rubble – when the rescuers were carrying out an operation to dig a parallel hole, a man shouted: “Help, I beg you, get me out.”
The victim was given liquid food and an oxygen tank into the tunnel before , in the end, pulled out alive. The man was taken to the hospital – he received serious injuries.
The police told reporters that investigators do not exclude the version of an attempt to prepare for a bank robbery.
The police believe that the accomplices were digging a tunnel that started under a closed store to reach the vault of a nearby bank. According to investigators, they dug up a little every day in order to rob Ferragosto on Monday, a public holiday, taking advantage of the fact that the bank would not work.
Earlier it became known that in the US state of Texas, a resident of Houston , trying to take revenge on the raider, accidentally shot a 9-year-old girl.
