Adi Hütter meets with Frankfurt on Oliver Glasner with Wolfsburg. Both could play in the premier class next season.
“Ösi duel for the Champions League” is what the picture calls the hit Eintracht Frankfurt, third in the table, against Wolfsburg, fourth. Two Austrians fight for the two remaining places in the premier class next to Bayern and Leipzig.
Adi Hütter and Oliver Glasner are the only two Austrian coaches in the 1st German Bundesliga. And they are very popular there too. Dortmund started the coaching carousel with the commitment of Marco Rose. And the names Hütter and Glasner keep coming up.
Sportbild assigned a value to the most sought-after coaches. Bavaria's Hansi Flick (15 million euros) leads in front of Julian Nagelsmann von Leipzig (12.4). Behind Rose (7) come Hütter (6) and Glasner (4). After the double with Salzburg and three championships with Bern in 2018, Adi Hütter came to Frankfurt. There he caused enthusiasm on the way to the semi-finals of the Europa League. The year after was not so good, which is why Sportbild wrote in German: “He can also have a crisis.” Now the 51-year-old from Vorarlberg is about to lead Frankfurt into the Champions League for the first time in the club's history. Allegedly he has a release clause of 7.5 million euros.
“Adi is very successful as a trainer. He expects his teams to play aggressively, keep putting their opponents under pressure and move forward at lightning speed, ”explains Glasner. He also demands that of his team.
The 46-year-old Glasner from Upper Austria made the newly promoted LASK runner-up and went to Wolfsburg in 2019, where he only has a contract until 2022. With Angerschmid and Sageder he has two compatriots as assistants. Hütter relies on the Austrians Peintinger as co-trainers and Markus Murrer and Andreas Biritz as athletic trainers.
In the direct duels, Hütter is usually ahead. Glasner lost four of the seven games (three with Ried against Salzburg) and won two, both with Wolfsburg.
