The Royal Court of Derbyshire in the UK sentenced 40-year-old Rise Hancock to life in prison with a minimum prison sentence of 31 years for his double murder. The man who served as the headmaster of the school inflicted 103 knife wounds on his wife and her lover who had cheated on him, writes The Sun.

The murderer himself reported to the police about the crime committed on January 1 of this year. “I hit them [with the knife] and cut both throats. There is blood everywhere, ”the man said. The Briton did not try to hide: the police officers who arrived at the scene found him sitting on the curb near the house. He later said that he entered the building through the back door.

Doctors found Helen, 39, and Martin Griffiths, 48, lying on the floor in a pool of blood. The man was already dead by that time. Rise's wife could not be saved.

It turned out that a few days before the massacre, the Briton learned that his wife was cheating on him. Before the murder, he came to his mother, took two kitchen knives from her and broke the landline phone so that she could not interfere with him. The woman who suspected something was wrong waited until her son left, called the emergency services from her mobile and asked to prevent the crime.

During the hearing, the prosecutor said that Helen worked as a physical education teacher and raised three children. According to him, in October 2019, a conflict occurred between the spouses, and after a while the woman decided to leave. Shortly before the murder, she began dating Griffiths. Friends of the deceased said that Rise could not come to terms with his wife's decision. When talking about the killer, they compared him to the character in The Strange Story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

The judge sentenced the man to life in prison with a minimum prison term of 31 years for the cold-blooded “willful, cruel and merciless” murder.
