According to TASS, the mayor of the city, John Cooper, said that there was a bomb explosion. “Initial reports indicate that this was a deliberate bombing in our city,” he said. According to him, the incident is aimed at “causing fear and horror at this time of hope.”
After the explosion, three people were hospitalized, now their condition is stable. The mayor announced a curfew for several days in the area bordering the scene.
The city's police posted on Twitter a photo of another van, which subsequently exploded. Law enforcers found out that he arrived at 2nd Avenue at 1:22 am. Those who could see the car or know any information about it were asked to report this at the indicated number.
Earlier, Nashville police said on Twitter that on Friday, December 25, at 06:30 am (15:30 Moscow time), a van exploded in the city center. Three people were injured, they were taken to the hospital, nothing threatens their lives. As noted by law enforcement officers, the incident occurred as a result of deliberate actions. The FBI and city police are investigating the incident.
