Huawei has announced that it is preparing to launch the final assembly of the proprietary HarmonyOS operating system on smartphones. The device update is scheduled for early June 2021.
This was announced by the head of the software development department of Huawei Consumer Business Group Wang Chenglu. Although the top manager did not name the specific models that will receive the update, it is expected that the first among them will be the Mate 40, Mate 30, P40 and Mate X2 smartphones.
Of course, everything will not be limited only to these models. Earlier it was reported that HarmonyOS 2.0 will receive many old smartphones of the company, including those released under the Honor brand, which is now not owned by Huawei. They should also be updated later in the summer.
The source writes that by the end of 2021, the company plans to transfer all 200 million devices in circulation to its own OS.
