Chinese electronics manufacturer Huawei plans to provide over 100 million devices with its own HarmonyOS operating system in 2021. This was stated by the deputy head of the company Xu Zhijun at the Global Analyst Conference 2021.

Previously, Huawei has signed contracts with more than 20 hardware vendors and 280 software developers to work in the Huawei product ecosystem. According to representatives of Huawei, HarmonyOS represents a new generation of mobile operating systems with a single language for different devices. At the moment, it is planned that the flagship models of Huawei, including the Mate X2, will receive HarmonyOS as early as April 2021. In general, the transition of Huawei mobile devices to the new system will begin from June 2021.

In 2019, Huawei began developing its own mobile operating system in response to US sanctions that made the company's smartphones lose access to Google's Android apps. HarmonyOS 2.0 was introduced in September 2020 and supports smart TVs, cars and smartphones.
