The HSV slipped against Darmstadt
Hamburger SV received another low blow in the final sprint to return to the German Bundesliga. The North Germans lost 1: 2 (0: 0) at home to twelfth Darmstadt on Friday and threaten to be overtaken by their pursuers. For this, Greuther Fürth and Holstein Kiel have to win their catch-up games. For the time being, HSV remains second, four points behind leaders Bochum.
The winners' goals were scored by Erich Berko (51st) after submission by ÖFB legionnaire Mathias Honsak and striker Serdar Dursun (60th). Jeremy Dudziak only managed the connection goal (77th). Daniel Thioune's team had only recently lost a 3-0 lead against Hanover. The only consolation for HSV: In the remaining six games, with the exception of the game against Karlsruher SC, he only plays against opponents from the lower half of the table.
