How to get rid of rodents in the country?
In the fall, we close the dacha until spring, seal the holes in the underground, but the mice still make new ones. During the winter, they gnaw through upholstered furniture, open packages with edible supplies. Is it possible to somehow get rid of them?

– Most likely, mice make their way to you in the fall, as soon as the first wave of cold arrives in the region. The danger of rodents lies not only in damage to property and food, but also in the transfer of various dangerous diseases, for example, fatal hemorrhagic fever. In spring, it is enough to inhale the “mouse” smell when cleaning the house to get infected with it. In addition, rodents are carriers of ectoparasites – fleas and bedbugs.
It is best to fight mice and rats with edible baits. They exist of two types – anticoagulants of the 1st and 2nd generation. 1st generation: the bait must be eaten multiple times by rodents to be effective. 2nd generation: effective with a single consumption of the bait, the death of the rodent occurs after 3-5 days.
The active ingredient here is bromadiolone. Rat bait is like a piece of meat that exudes an edible flavor. Bitterness (bitrex), introduced into the bait, is not recognized by rodents, but prevents accidental eating by other animals. For mice, bait is produced in the form of granules and grains.
The drug enters the rat's liver and interferes with the formation of vitamin K, which is responsible for blood clotting. In addition, rodents do not feel the toxic effect for a long time, therefore they boldly use it and lead to the poison of fellow tribesmen. In this case, the drug gradually accumulates in the body and kills rodents when the lethal dose is reached.
