Iran will squeeze money, equipment and weapons out of Russia.
In exchange for the supply of missiles and drones, Iran may demand Su-35 fighters and air defense systems from Russia S-400.
This opinion was expressed by the head of the Center for Military-Legal Studies Alexander Musienko in a commentary to “24 Channel”.
According to him, this is a profitable exchange for Iran, since even a squadron (from 12 to 14 units) of these aircraft will allow Tehran to at least somehow update its air force fleet.
At the same time, Musienko noted, Su-35 fighters do not play a decisive role for Russia in the war in Ukraine, so the Russians can give the Iranians even new models of these aircraft, and over time manufacture new ones.
“If Tehran receives the S-400 air defense systems that Sergei Shoigu [then Minister of Defense RF] during a visit to Iran, this will also be good for the country [Iran]. Because it has nowhere to get other systems, except in China, if it agrees to transfer them,” he emphasized.
For Russia, this situation is not a win-win, because it is losing its own aircraft or giving away air defense systems. However, the Kremlin, in his opinion, is forced to do this because there is nothing else left when its own resources are running out.
“The Russians are now in a situation where they cannot really dictate terms, so Iran will squeeze money, equipment, and weapons out of Russia to the fullest,” noted Alexander Musienko.
Recall that a member of the Iranian parliament's national security committee stipulated that Tehran receives agricultural products from Moscow in exchange for weapons, namely missiles and drones. At the same time, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani denied that Tehran was transferring ballistic missiles to Moscow.
