Because of the war in Ukraine, the Kremlin has canceled previously planned spending of $1.3 trillion on economic growth by 2026.

The aggressor state has already spent more than $200 billion on the deployment and maintenance of its troops for a full-scale war against Ukraine.

This was reported by Reuters journalist Idris Ali on platform X (formerly Twitter) with reference to an unnamed US official.

“Russia has likely spent up to $211 billion on equipping, deploying and maintaining troops in Ukraine,” the report says.

The journalist clarified that this amount includes the $10 billion that the Russian Federation lost due to the cancellation of its arms sales.

In addition, due to the war in Ukraine, the Kremlin has canceled previously planned spending of $1.3 trillion on economic growth through 2026.

An American official, quoted by a Reuters journalist, also voiced the likely losses of the Russian army since the beginning of a full-scale invasion – 315 thousand wounded or killed.

He also added that since February 2022, Ukrainian troops have destroyed or damaged at least 20 medium and large Russian Navy ships and one Russian-flagged tanker in the Black Sea.

Recall that on February 14, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the “special military operation” in Ukraine may last longer than planned. According to him, the fighting will not end this year.
