The next targets for attacks may be Ryazan and Samara.
In Russia, since the beginning of 2024, drones have already been 15 attacks on 13 oil refineries in nine regions of the country.
This was reported by The Insider in its publication and telegram channel.
Since the beginning of the year, 13 Russian refineries have already been hit.
“The attacks are far from harmless. In the event of a successful hit, the refinery may be out of commission for a long time , and sanctions complicate repairs. If three southern oil refineries shut down at the same time, then serious interruptions in the supply of fuel to the front are possible,” the publication says.
According to The Insider's calculations, the total installed capacity of the attacked plants is 178 million tons per year, but only eight refineries with a total installed capacity of 83 million tons per year were significantly damaged.
“If we take into account only significantly damaged primary oil refining installations, the air strike campaign has so far affected only 46 million tons of refining capacity per year, which corresponds to 14% of the total refinery capacity and 17% of the oil processed in 2023,” the report says. editions.
The publication's interlocutor in the oil industry said that taking into account certain factors, the next targets for attacks could be Ryazan and Samara.
“Firstly, they are potentially achievable. And secondly, they play an important role in supplies for the army,” the interlocutor said.
