The housing developers are starting work again
Austrians earn the eighth most median per hour according to purchasing power standard (PPS) in the EU. This is shown by a survey published on Monday by the statistics agency Eurostat for the year 2018. Austria (13.6 PPS) was followed by Denmark (19.2), Germany (16.1), Belgium (15.7) and Luxembourg (15.1 ), Sweden (14.7), the Netherlands (14.3) and just under Finland (13.9). France and Ireland were just behind Austria (13.5 each).
Measurements were taken in October 2018, with Denmark (€ 27.2) in the lead, with the highest mean gross hourly wage, ahead of Luxembourg (€ 19.6), Sweden (€ 18.2), Belgium and Ireland (each € 18.0) , Finland (€ 17.5) and Germany (€ 17.2). According to Eurostat, Austria records EUR 15.3 per hour worked and ranks eighth.
The lowest mean gross hourly wage, on the other hand, was recorded in Bulgaria (€ 2.4), followed by Romania (€ 3.7), Hungary and Lithuania (both € 4.4), Latvia (€ 4.9), Poland (€ 5.0 €), Croatia and Portugal (€ 5.4 each) and Slovakia (€ 5.6).
