On Saturday morning, November 6, on a train en route between the German cities of Regensburg and Nuremberg, a 27-year-old Syrian attacked passengers with a knife.
According to Bild, three men aged 26, 39 and 60 were seriously injured, two of them were in serious condition.
There were about three hundred passengers on the train. The motives and circumstances of the attack have not yet been established. According to eyewitnesses, the young man complained of psychological problems and contacted the help service. They say he arrived in Germany in 2014 and was recognized as a refugee.
The attacker was quickly detained, since at the same time a special unit of the Bavarian police was sent to Renesburg to service a football match.
Passengers evacuated from the train, which was urgently stopped at the Seubersdorf station. Police, medical teams and psychologists are working at the scene.
Federal Minister of the Interior Horst Seehofer on Twitter called a terrible knife attack on the railway, wished the victims a speedy recovery and thanked the emergency services.
