Hooligans attack club bosses before the European Cup game

Scandal in the Netherlands! The Union Berlin bosses were attacked by hooligans in Rotterdam the evening before the European Cup game.

Ugly scenes in Rotterdam. Serious riots broke out in the Dutch city on Wednesday evening. The Conference League game between Feyenoord and Union Berlin will take place on Thursday.

A delegation of around 25 from the German Bundesliga club went out the evening before in the bar “De Huismeester”, near their hotel. She was surprised and attacked by the opponent's hooligans.

The “Berliner Kurier” reports of flying objects and that even women present were not spared. So far there have been no reports of serious injuries. One of the women present is said to have been taken to the hospital because of a shock.

The police could intervene quickly and prevent worse things from happening. The perpetrators fled. One arrest has been reported so far.

Those present included Union President Dirk Zingler, managing director Oskar Kosche and press spokesman Christian Arbeit. The delegation was able to return to the hotel under police protection.
