Sunday, December 12, is the Day of the Ground Forces of Ukraine. In this regard, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated the servicemen and veterans on their professional holiday.
The congratulations were announced by the press service of the President's Office. As the head of state noted, the Day of the Ground Forces is a holiday of dedicated military men who, in any conditions, defend their state.
– This is a holiday of courageous and dedicated soldiers who, in difficult conditions of modern war, , day and night, in frost and heat, under enemy fire and shelling, they are able to coherently solve difficult tasks, ensuring reliable defense of our state, protecting its sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability, Zelensky stressed.
The Head of State recalled that the Ground Forces are the most numerous and powerful type of national troops. According to Zelensky, the soldiers of the Ground Forces have always played an important role on the battlefield, and also proved by their actions and courage that it is impossible to overcome their desire for victory.
The President added that today the military of the Ground Forces defend the sovereignty of Ukraine in Donbass.
– And today, on the day of their professional holiday, the ground forces continue to steadfastly and confidently hold their combat positions and lines, giving a worthy rebuff to the Russian aggressor in the east of Ukraine, & # 8212; reads the congratulation.
The Head of State thanked the military and veterans of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for their courage and heroism, selfless fulfillment of duty, contribution to the defense of Ukraine.
Zelensky expressed his conviction, that the Ground Forces will continue to reliably defend the freedom and independence of Ukraine.
